Request for Information - Technical Advisor for Transmission Procurement Process Development

Through this Request for Information (RFI), the IESO is seeking information from potential vendors (other than legal advisory vendors) with experience or expertise that could be leveraged to support the IESO’s development of future competitive transmission procurement process(es) for Ontario. The RFI is available here. The response deadline is Friday, September 15, 2017.
This RFI is further to the passing of the Energy Statute Law Amendment Act, 2015 (also referred to as Bill 135). Among other things, this legislation gave the IESO the authority under the Electricity Act to “enter into contracts for the procurement of […] transmission systems or any part of such systems, including the development of all or part of such systems” if required to do so under an implementation plan or a directive issued in relation to a long-term energy plan from the Minister of Energy. The information received in response to this RFI will be used to inform and scope requests for services associated with any potential future procurement(s) under Bill 135.
