One of the ways the IESO helps meet the province's energy needs is through securing new supply. This means procuring renewable and clean energy from various generation technologies and capacities.

Procurement projects engage a wide range of people from around the province – from large grid-scale generators and distribution-connected producers to communities, small businesses and individuals developing small-scale projects.

Status of Active Procurements

Feed-in Tariff (FIT)  Program

The FIT 5 application period (November 7 to November 25, 2016) is now over. Applications are currently being reviewed and successful applicants are expected to be announced in Q3 2017. Find more on FIT »

Total Contracted Generation

A Progress Report on Contracted Electricity Supply is updated quarterly to provide the status of contracted electricity supply projects and procurement initiatives.

The IESO Active Generation Contract List provides the status of individual contracted electricity supply projects within different IESO procurement programs.
