IEP Overview

What is the Indigenous Energy Projects Program?

The Indigenous Energy Projects (IEP) Program  provides support for supply-side solutions  that contribute to cleaner, more reliable and more affordable energy systems for First Nations and Métis communities and organizations.

This program includes three areas of focus:

  • the assessment and development of renewable energy projects;
  • the assessment and development of partnerships for renewable energy projects and transmission projects; and
  • innovative supply-side solutions relating to the IEP Program objective.

The IEP Program replaces the Energy Partnerships Program (EPP) as of May 1, 2018. Documents related to the new IEP Program can be found at Program Documents and Resources. For documents related to the EPP, please see EPP Documents Archive.
