Overview

All metering installations providing metering data used in the settlement of IESO-administered markets or programs must be registered by a metering service provider.

Organizations having a metered market participation role are responsible for installing and maintaining the metering, accuracy and reliability of the metering data, for the security of the data at the facility, and for selecting a metering service provider.

Organizations registered as a metering service provider carry out the specialized work of installing, registering and maintaining metering installations.

The metered market participant and the metering service provider are free to make any suitable commercial arrangement. A metered market participant may also register as a metering service provider.
