Capacity Auction stakeholder engagement begins August 22

Aligned with our commitment to enable competition in Ontario’s electricity market, the IESO is proceeding with stakeholder engagement to continue the evolution of a capacity auction that will increase participation and meet Ontario’s capacity needs. The webinar that will kick off engagement on the development of this capacity auction (formerly the transitional capacity auction or TCA), is scheduled for August 22, from 2 p.m.-3:30 p.m.
During the webinar, the IESO will present the purpose, high-level scope, and timing of this engagement, which will culminate with the design and market rule changes that will enable the capacity auction to run in June 2020, and beyond.
