IESO Outage Approval Criteria webinar

November 30, 2017

The IESO is hosting a webinar on December 13 to hear from stakeholders with respect to the IESO using extreme weather conditions to assess planned outages that affect resource adequacy. The proposed changes are expected to increase accuracy in the way the IESO conducts planned outage scheduling which will in turn improve the resource adequacy and reliability outlook.

The IESO is committed to continuous improvements to the resource adequacy modelling parameters that increase accuracy over the planning horizon.  Such improvements include: thermal generating unit capability during normal and extreme weather conditions, hydroelectric capability during low water conditions and import availability during extreme weather conditions.

This webinar will take place on Wednesday, December 13 at 1:30pm – 3:00pm and all stakeholders who are interested in this initiative are asked to register with engagement@ieso.ca.

For more information about the webinar, see the Proposed IESO Outage Approval Criteria engagement webpage.
