FIT Archive

The Feed-in Tariff (FIT) Program was launched in March 2009 and administered by the Independent Electricity System Operator. Revisions to Rules and Contracts were reflected in five iterations of the program. While no longer an active procurement, the IESO continues to oversee the contract management process related to the FIT Program.

FIT Version 5

The application period for the final iteration of the program, FIT 5, was open from November 7, 2016 to November 25, 2016, and 390 applications were identified as eligible to receive a FIT Contract. These contracts represented 149.999 megawatts (MW) of renewable energy. The procurement target for FIT 5 was 150 MW.

FIT Version 4

The FIT 4 application period was open from October 5, 2015 to October 23, 2015, and 936 contracts were offered in June, 2016. These contracts represented 241.430 megawatts (MW) of power. The procurement target for FIT 4 was 241.438 MW.

FIT Version 3

The FIT 3 application period was open from November 4, 2013, to December 13, 2013, and 500 contracts were offered in July 2014 representing 123.5 megawatts (MW) of power. The procurement target for FIT 3 was 123.5 MW. A further 332 contracts were offered in December 2014 as part of the extended FIT 3 procurement, representing 100 MW of power. The procurement target for the extended FIT 3 procurement was 100 MW.

FIT Version 2
  

The FIT 2 application period was open from December 14, 2012 to January 18, 2013. In July 2013, 951 new Small FIT renewable energy contracts were awarded representing 146.5 megawatts (MW) of power. The procurement target for FIT 2 was 200 MW.
