The IESO President and CEO and Leadership Team are responsible for implementing the strategic direction and initiatives for the organization in keeping with its statutory objectives. They also provide advice and recommendations to the IESO Board of Directors.

Richard Wilson

Richard Wilson has more than 15 years of experience across the power sector in Canada, the U.S., and South America.  His strategic vision for enterprise risk management and governance programs has evolved how generation, transmission, and distribution organizations understand, manage, and report on their risks. 

Mr. Wilson also brings significant power sector cybersecurity and privacy experience to his role on the board. He provides thought leadership to the sector on defense-in-depth cybersecurity programs to secure information and operational technologies, and is the lead author of CPA Canada’s 20 Questions for Boards of Directors on Cybersecurity.

An active participant in the board governance community, Mr. Wilson spent seven years on CPA Canada's Corporate Oversight & Governance Board, which develops governance standards and frameworks. 

Mr. Wilson is a partner at PwC Canada’s cybersecurity & privacy practice. Prior to joining PwC, Mr. Wilson spent 15 years in several C-suite roles at publicly traded and private companies. He holds a degree from York University and is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
